Out Of Order Forma Venti Gets Two New Colors

There’s something about rectangular watches that I’ve always liked. They have a different kind of presence on the wrist, especially when you add a bit of Art Deco inspiration and a dial that doesn’t look like everything else out there. And if you throw in a jumping-hour complication, things get even more interesting.

That’s exactly what Out Of Order did with the FORMA VENTI, and now the Italian brand is adding two new colourways to the collection. Meet the VENTI ALBUS and VENTI ROSÉ, two takes on the same design, one subtle and the other a little more playful.

The FORMA VENTI takes inspiration from the Art Deco designs of the 1920s, with a compact rectangular case measuring 30.5 × 32 mm and a distinctive guilloché dial. Its Double Delta pattern is created using CNC machining, while a small cabochon on the crown adds a jewellery-like touch.

The two new models follow the same design, but take different approaches to colour.

VENTI ALBUS keeps things clean and understated with a matte white dial. The jumping-hour display, minutes and seconds discs match the dial for a subtle tone-on-tone look. Blue accents on the markers and crown cabochon add a little contrast, while the cream-coloured Italian calfskin strap completes the package.

VENTI ROSÉ is the more expressive of the two. Its rosé dial takes inspiration from the wine that gives the watch its name, with matching display discs and a tobacco-coloured Italian leather strap. Blue details on the crown and dial markers provide a sharper contrast, while the blue lacquered case back ties the colour scheme together.

Both watches share a 316L stainless steel case, a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and 50 metres of water resistance. Inside is the Seagull ST1721 automatic movement, offering the jumping-hour complication alongside the minutes and seconds display, with a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.

With dimensions that should make them comfortable on a variety of wrists, these are dress watches with a little more personality than your usual rectangular timepiece.

The new Out Of Order FORMA VENTI ALBUS and VENTI ROSÉ are priced at €780 each.

Would I rock it?

Absolutely, especially the ROSÉ version. I love the colour, and the way the blue cabochon on the crown stands out against it. It’s a bold little detail that gives the watch even more character. And then there’s the jumping-hour complication, with those rotating discs matching the colour of the dial. I’m a sucker for details like this, and the FORMA VENTI has plenty of them.

That said, I don’t wear dress watches very often. My everyday life doesn’t really call for one, and I tend to reach for more casual, versatile watches instead. But that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a good dress watch, especially one that brings something a little different to the table. And let’s be honest, every collection needs a dress watch or two, well or more, right? That’s what this hobby is about after all, collecting.

The 5 ATM water resistance is pretty standard for a dress watch in this category. It should be perfectly fine for washing your hands or getting caught in a sudden downpour. I wouldn’t take it swimming, though. But that’s what we have dive watches for, right?

All in all, the FORMA VENTI looks like a well-made watch with a lovely design and some genuinely interesting details. The ROSÉ version is definitely my favourite, and while it might not be the kind of watch I’d wear every day, I can certainly appreciate what Out Of Order has done here.
