Pink isn’t exactly the first colour that comes to mind when you think of a professional dive watch and that’s precisely why the new Certina DS Action Diver 38mm Titanium Flamingo stands out. (Reference: C048.807.44.051.01)
Rather than covering the dial in colour, Certina has taken a more restrained approach. A black dial and black ceramic bezel provide the familiar tool-watch foundation, while vivid pink accents and matching Super-LumiNova inject just enough personality without compromising legibility. It’s bold, but not loud.
The rest of the package remains purpose-built. The 38mm case is crafted from lightweight Grade 2 titanium and paired with a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel. Beneath the sapphire crystal beats the ETA-based Powermatic 80.611 automatic movement, offering an 80-hour power reserve and a Nivachron balance spring for improved resistance to magnetic fields.
As the name suggests, this is still very much a diver. The watch is ISO 6425:2018 certified, water resistant to 300 metres, and incorporates Certina’s long-standing DS (Double Security) concept, with reinforced shock protection and enhanced sealing throughout the case.
The Flamingo joins the growing family of colourful 38mm titanium DS Action Divers, proving that a capable tool watch doesn’t have to stick to fifty shades of black. Sometimes, a splash of pink is exactly what it needs.

Personal opinion
Now for my two cents.
I really like where Certina went with this one. The 38mm case is right in my sweet spot, and pairing it with titanium makes a lot of sense. A compact, lightweight diver is just easy to wear, whether you’re spending the day outdoors or simply sitting behind a desk.
The only thing that gives me pause is the Grade 2 titanium. I love how light it is, but I also know it has a tendency to pick up scratches fairly quickly. Then again, maybe that’s part of the charm. Tool watches are meant to be used, and titanium does develop its own character over time.
And then there’s the pink.
I know it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s exactly why I like it. It’s not an all-pink watch screaming for attention. It’s a proper dive watch with just enough colour to give it some personality. In a sea of black and blue divers, this one has the confidence to be a little different.
Would I wear it?
Without a second thought. As someone who enjoys adding a bit of colour to my watch straps from time to time, I have no problem doing the same with a watch. The Flamingo is fun, fresh, and still every bit the serious dive watch underneath. I’d happily have one in the watch box.
