Introducing Micromilspec Dualtimer

Micromilspec is a Norwegian independent watchmaker founded in 2019 in Oslo, working on made-to-order timepieces developed in close collaboration with military units, first responders, and select professional clients. While small in scale, the brand operates with Swiss manufacturing partners, allowing it to work with serious tool-watch specifications that sit closer to professional procurement than typical microbrand production.

That background is especially visible in its Pilot collection, which traces back to one of the brand’s early commissions for the Royal Norwegian Air Force—a brief focused on multi-time-zone readability, durability, and instant legibility under demanding conditions. Those same priorities continue to define its civilian watches today.

Introducing the Micromilspec Dualtimer

At its core, the Dualtimer is a GMT built around clarity rather than complexity. The new white dial version doesn’t change the watch mechanically or conceptually, but it does shift the visual impact. The matte surface pushes the Flieger-style layout into sharper contrast, with bold Arabic numerals, a triangle-and-dots 12 o’clock marker, and a design language that prioritises immediate readability.

“A white dial changes how you read the watch before you’ve even checked the time,” says founder Henrik Rye. “It throws the indices and the lume into sharper contrast. The Dualtimer was always built around legibility, so the white dial is really just the same idea said a little louder.”

That focus carries through into the dark. Micromilspec’s bi-colour Super-LumiNova X1 separates functions at a glance—green for local time, blue for GMT—so both time zones remain clearly distinguishable at night. A 24-hour bezel and independently adjustable GMT hand complete the system.

Inside, nothing changes. The Dualtimer runs on the Sellita SW330-2 automatic GMT movement with a 56-hour power reserve, housed in a 42mm stainless steel case with brushed finishing, sapphire crystals front and back, screw-down crown and caseback, and 200m of water resistance. It’s offered on textured rubber straps or a brushed steel H-link bracelet.

Alongside the white dial, Micromilspec is also reopening pre-orders for a second production batch of its Pilot collection, including the original black Dualtimer and both Worldtimer variants. The Dualtimer remains the more focused of the two Pilot lines, sitting alongside the more complex titanium Worldtimer chronograph.

My Thoughts

I’ve always liked what Micromilspec is doing because the watches come from real military projects, not just military-inspired design. That gives them a kind of authenticity you can feel.

My favourite in the lineup is still the Field Testing Unit (FTU). It’s just so clean and focused, everything feels like it’s exactly where it should be.

The Dualtimer, though, makes a strong case for itself here. The white dial works really well, pushing the already legible GMT layout even further. It feels brighter, sharper, and honestly just easier to read at a glance.

The 42mm case is right at the upper end of what I usually wear, but still comfortably within my range. And with this Pilot DNA, the size actually makes sense, it’s all about clarity.

What I like most is that Micromilspec didn’t overcomplicate this. Same watch, different personality.

Would I rock this one? Definitely yes.
