From Dreaming of Reversible Watches to Owning One: A Desire Fulfilled.
I’ve always admired the reversible cases of the Cartier Basculante and Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso but couldn’t justify their high prices. That’s when I discovered Vario, a brand offering a similar experience for an affordable price.
The Versa is a sleek, rectangular watch featuring a unique double-dial reversible design; it combines style with practicality, allowing wearers to switch between two time zones or appearances effortlessly.
With the two dials comes two movements too, 2 x Ronda Slimtech 1062 to keep it as slim as possible. The advantage of this quartz movement is the 6 years long battery life. You will not need to change it anytime soon! I’ll admit, changing the battery is a bit more challenging than on a typical watch, but fortunately, Vario offers a helpful tutorial to guide you through the process. The flip or switch
Now let’s talk about the mechanism that allow us to flip the two dials.
The rotating carriage lets the watch effortlessly turn between two stunning dials. It works perfectly just a gentle flick at the bottom and it pops out smoothly. It’s truly a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Plus, it offers plenty of creative opportunities for photographing the watch from different angles.(see the photos below)
After that, you can simply rotate it to view the dials, one showcasing a classic black design with Arabic numerals, and the other featuring a striking purple enamel face.

Both dials have their own crowns(decorated with the beautiful “V” sign, Vario’s signature) to be able to set the time easily.
I can’t say enough how fun this watch is. It lets you track two time zones simultaneously, which is perfect for traveling abroad or keeping tabs on where your family lives. Plus, you can easily switch up its looks by flipping it, from the casual but bold purple dial(or whichever you choose the MOP dials are awesome too) to a more formal black one. Its compact size, 26mm by 39mm, which means it can comfortably slip under a shirt cuff when needed.
On the Hand: Comfort and Presence
Wearing this watch is a true pleasure, it really catches people’s attention wherever I go. I’ve had countless compliments and questions while having it on my wrist. It wears incredibly comfortable and comes with a fantastic Italian leather strap featuring signed butterfly clasps. The strap tapers elegantly from 20mm to 16mm, adding a refined touch that makes the watch stand out even more.
The strap has been fantastic. I’ve been using it since day one and never felt the need to switch it out. That said, Vario recently released an Elastic Metal Bracelet designed specifically for the Versa: a 20 mm strap tapering to 18 mm, with quick-release spring bars and removable links for a perfect fit. I’m really curious to give it a try.
The case of the watch is thoughtfully designed, striking a perfect balance between form and function. It features a smooth, polished finish that feels premium to the touch, yet remains practical for everyday wear. The size is well-proportioned, making it comfortable on the wrist without feeling bulky or overpowering(it is on the thicker side though with its 12mm). One minor drawback is that because the watch is reversible and meant to be flipped frequently, fingerprints can quickly accumulate on the surfaces or between the case and the dials itself.
Fortunately, Vario includes a soft cleaning cloth with the watch, making it easy to keep the case looking clean and polished at all times.
At this price point, I genuinely think it’s a steal. With its dual dials and rotating carriage, it’s a truly unique and charming watch that stands out in any collection. Quickly became one of my favourite!
Final thoughts
If you’ve ever wanted a reversible watch with dual dials that not only offers versatility but can also serve as an elegant dress piece, the Versa might be exactly what you’re looking for. Its smart design lets you switch between two different looks in seconds, ideal for going from a casual day to a formal evening without changing your watch. It’s stylish, practical, and adds a playful twist to your collection. Honestly, the Versa isn’t just a watch; it’s an experience, and one of the most enjoyable pieces you can wear and own.
I’ve had mine since January 2025, and it still puts a smile on my face every time I wear it. I love flipping between the two faces to match my outfit or mood, and even now, I enjoy it just as much as I did on day one. Not to mention photographing it, is one of the most fun experience I’ve had. Quickly became one of my favourite in my collection, a definite keeper on the long run.
On a side note as far as I know, Vario is also working on an automatic version of the Versa, and I honestly can’t wait to see it once it’s finalized.
and A little bit of extra
One more thing I really want to mention from a customer’s perspective is how amazing Judy and Ivan are when it comes to communication and customer care. They personally take the time to respond to every single inquiry, whether you reach out by email or send them a message on Instagram. It’s not just a quick reply either, they are always friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in making sure you have the best experience possible.
After you place your order, they stay in touch every step of the way, providing regular updates about your watch. They’ll let you know when it’s ready to ship and even share photos of it before it’s carefully packaged.
This level of customer care is rare nowadays and makes Vario standout even more!

Update with the VERSA Elastic Metal Bracelet
If you own a Vario Versa, this new Elastic Metal Bracelet is a must-have upgrade. It’s beautifully designed at 20mm tapering to 18mm, with quick-release spring bars and removable links that make sizing effortless.
What I love most is the clever sizing system — just press the textured pattern to add or remove links. No tools, no frustration, and definitely no heavy pressure needed. Once adjusted, give the bracelet a gentle pull to make sure everything’s secure.
The best part? You can still flip the Versa dials while wearing it — smooth and simple.
Sizing Tip: Avoid forcing the links in or out to protect the mechanism, and don’t press down the removable links when taking off the bracelet to prevent accidental release. It is really easy to fit for the wrist. (Vario made a guide to help out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joD-t01A5wY&feature=youtu.be )
On a side note, it’s very comfortable to wear and doesn’t pull the hair on my wrist, which is always a big plus for metal bracelets. For my 17cm wrist, I went with the long version, but I’d actually recommend choosing the short one instead. If your wrist is over 17cm, then go for the longer one.
Overall, this bracelet doesn’t just make the Versa more comfortable — it elevates the whole experience of wearing it. Easy peasy and effortlessly stylish.
