Fathers® is an Italian watch brand founded in 2021 by two friends, Luigi Generali and Matteo Franchina, driven by a shared love for watches and a deep respect for family values. Their idea was simple but meaningful: to create timepieces that not only reflect quality craftsmanship but also celebrate the special connections between parents and children, across generations.

The inspiration behind Fathers® comes from personal stories. For Luigi, it started with his first watch, a gift from his father at the age of eight, which sparked a lifelong passion for watches. This personal connection to his own father motivated him, together with Matteo, to create something lasting — watches that are more than accessories, but symbols of love, heritage, and unforgettable moments.

The name Fathers® reflects the core idea behind the brand: timeless objects that carry meaning, memories, and a sense of connection. The logo itself tells a story — the central “H” in the design symbolizes outstretched arms, hand in hand, a child playing at their father’s feet. It’s a simple but powerful reminder of family ties, mentorship, and friendship.

Back to Business: Let’s Dive into the Review

The delivery came via DHL, and I was immediately surprised by how heavy the box was. Once I opened it, the reason for the weight quickly became clear. The watch was packed in a stunning, high-quality box — opening it, was a real pleasure. (added an photo of it at the end of the review)

Words can’t quite capture how I felt when I first saw the watch. The turquoise oil-pressed dial with the applied logo is absolutely stunning(see the macros below, I can’t stop admiring it). On the other hand there’s been a bit of debate about the color of the dial—some of my friends think the watch looks blue, others say it leans more towards green. Honestly, the truth is probably somewhere in between being turquoise or aqua as the brand calls it, and it really depends on the lighting too.

All in all, it’s exceptionally well-made and absolutely stunning. Just take a look below — I’m what you’d call a dial guy, meaning I adore a well crafted unique dial and this one completely has me in awe with its craftsmanship and beauty. After some weeks of use, I still find myself staring at the dial, admiring quietly every details of it.

On a side note — this is the first watch in a long while that actually turned heads and got my buddies asking about it. It really makes such an impression on the wrist.

All right, let’s continue! So the next thing that immediately caught my eye was the orange seconds hand — such a cool detail that adds a playful touch while elevating the overall look of the watch(I think an orange rubber strap would go perfect with it, which I will try with my strap code rubber strap). The hour and minute hands are equally impressive; I love how they’re skeletonized, allowing you to see through them and appreciate the beauty of the dial even more.

You can also see in these photos the applied markers, which add a great sense of three-dimensional depth to the overall look. And just look at the lume — they’re absolutely soaked in Super-LumiNova C3 SLN. Just a bit of sunshine hits them and they glow intensely even in the faintest shadows.

The watch features a unidirectional 120-click bezel crafted from 316L stainless steel with a single-piece molded ceramic insert. The steel guarantees durability and corrosion resistance, while the ceramic brings lightness, exceptional scratch resistance, and a brilliance that lasts. Each bezel is hand-finished, blending precise engineering with artisanal attention to detail.

The ceramic insert is treated with Super-LumiNova C3SLN, providing excellent visibility even in total darkness or underwater. Every engraving is hand-filled with luminous material, ensuring a bright, consistent glow that endures.

Rotating the bezel is a real pleasure—crisp, precise clicks with satisfying tactile feedback and a beautifully clean sound. It is music to my ears.

The watch comes with a metal bracelet(rubber is optional too) that tapers from 20mm to 18mm, adding a slightly dressier touch to the overall look, especially in this color variant. The bracelet is well-crafted and feels comfortable on the wrist. It does its job well, keeping the watch securely in place, and with four micro-adjustments on the clasp, it’s easy to get a great fit. Nothing fancy here — just a solid, reliable bracelet that gets the job done. It does not have a quick release function, which might bother some. In general I am all right with that, as I find it not difficult to remove it with the right tools.

On the downside, there’s one thing worth mentioning. If you plan to swap out the metal bracelet, it might be a bit tricky. The drilled lug holes sit quite close to the case, which means thicker straps might not fit properly or could be a tight squeeze. Below you can see the watch on my 17 cm wrist.

It is powered by the Sellita SW200-1, offering a power reserve of 38 to 41 hours and operating at 28,800 bph (4Hz). It’s a robust and reliable workhorse movement, delivering solid accuracy and keeps the watch running smoothly. It is a good choice for this model as it won’t break the bank.

Of course, it features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. At 3.20mm thick, it feels solid and durable. It also has a screw-down crown, which was a bit stiff to unscrew at first but helps the watch achieve its 200-meter water resistance.

To be honest that level of water resistance is more than enough for most people’s daily activities—and then some. Whether you’re caught in the rain, going for a swim, or taking part in water sports, the Horizon is more than capable. It can even handle recreational diving or some other water related sports(water skiing etc) without breaking a sweat, making it a reliable companion for both casual and more adventurous use.

One last thing to mention is the caseback which has a nice engraving with the Logo of the brand and it is held by 6 screws.

Final thoughts

All in all, this watch offers a great blend of solid build quality, reliable performance, and attractive design, not to mention it is Swiss made.

It nails all the fundamentals—and with the addition of the unique oil-pressed dial and the unidirectional 120-click bezel crafted from 316L steel and a single-molded ceramic insert, it truly stands out from the crowd.

On top of that, the meaningful concept behind the watch—celebrating the bond between fathers and their children—adds an emotional value that makes it an exceptional offering for the price. Well, it definitely does for me, becoming a dad at 40.

If you’re after a dressier dive watch or a true go-anywhere, do-anything piece(GADA) that pairs with almost any outfit(from sporty to elegant), look no further—this is the one. It certainly got me and became one of my favourite one! Highly recommended to get one!
