Welcome to Watchdad Blog

Fatherhood and watches through a man’s eyes.

What is the blog about?

Hi there! I’m Gyuri from Hungary — a husband (married to a Vietnamese girl), a dad, and a bit of a watch nerd. As the name of this blog suggests, I became a father in 2023, one of the happiest day of my life and a milestone that came after a long and challenging journey(I became a father at the age of 40).

So back to the track now. What is this blog about? First and foremost, this is about my journey through the world of watches. I’ll be sharing how and when I first fell in love with watches, and how I slowly built up my collection over the years.

What started as a casual admiration quickly turned into a full-blown passion — for the craftsmanship, the history, the design, and yes, even the endless hunt for that “next piece.”

This space is where I’ll share that love — the watches I’ve collected, the stories behind them, and what they mean to me today. Whether you’re already deep into the hobby or just starting to notice the magic ticking away on your wrist, welcome. You’re in good company.

So here I’m, an amateur watch enthusiast and will share my passion for timepieces, my thoughts on the watches I own, and the brands I admire. This blog is my little corner of the internet where I explore the vast and fascinating world of watches.

These days, the world moves faster than ever, and I have no interest in racing to keep up — or in taking up too much of your time. I’ll do my best to keep my posts short and easy to read, so you can enjoy them without straining your eyes or losing precious minutes.

You’ll mostly find three types of posts here for now:
• Meet the Brand – short introductions to watch brands I find interesting
• Watch Reviews – my personal take on the watches in my collection
• Shorts – quick reads with stories, thoughts, or helpful tips for fellow watch lovers

Whether you’re new to watches or deep into the hobby, I hope you’ll find something here to enjoy.
